digi bird

I have a terrible cold and I'm missing Sara's Bachelorette party right now. My face feels like sh*t. So I hope she will forgive me if she reads this. And I hope she and Chris are cool with me posting this animation.
Chris designed this bird "Phoebe" for their wedding invitations. I told him I could animate it. This is it. I hope my labor can be used as a wedding gift. I really haven't budgeted myself well lately with my new apartment and financing my film. On top of that I was laid off yesterday. I wish I would have canceled my gym membership before they charged my account for this month.

I'm really going to miss my bosses. The good news is that I can always go back and freelance for them. Also I can work for agencies under the same umbrella company now. Tricia asked me if this means I can "Come back for Arkalalah." I dont' have money for that but if she can hook me up with a short term gig that weekend. I don't know...carnie? Maybe I can hop a train or try riding my bike. After recounting the gigs/jobs on my CV and the count is now 45. I've have 45 jobs since I was 11 years old.
I'm going to the bachelorette party now. I haven't eaten anything but mochi and juice today. I shouldn't have a problem catching up with them in drunkenness :)

Chris designed this sprite for his wedding site. I've been trying to animated it. I have to say it's hard to animate in photoshop, but animating video characters with with real pixels is nice. I've been taking a break from my film this week. I hope to get back to it very very soon.

building an animation camera stand

This is the animation camera stand I'm building at home. I'm sure the 5 people who read this already know I bought a huge copy stand about 6 years ago for testing animation for the 3 Farms commercial. I used it to shoot most of scenes in Lighthouses with my Cannon G9. Anyway, now I am determined to make it into a full working Bolex camera stand. So I went to Home Depot last night and bought lots of pipes, tees, couplings, elbows, and flanges to build the legs and arms. I have some pictures of my work in progress which I will post when I find my camera's usb connector.

Ok, I found my USB plug. Now I don't have to scan all my animation tests at work anymore. Here is the table in progress...

Tees, nipple pipes and couplings. This sort of made me think of the chess set my dad build entirely out of nuts, bolts and screws. That was pretty awesome.
Butch genius. Putting it together wasn't so hard but tightening it make it level was horrible.

This is what it looks like so far. Oh yeah please excuse the room. I haven't yet settled in and with all my money going toward my Habit I don't think it will happen anytime soon. By Habit I mean spending lots of money on rent, some food, and making traditionally animated expensive films without the intention of selling them. Perhaps that should go in my grant proposals?
