Superman could have been an awesome cameraman

I was watching a 3D animated rollercoaster simulation on youtube last night. It was one of those “we are going to fly the camera up and around and through everything” shots. That’s seems to be what people like to do with their Maya or their Studio Max. I was thinking…could there be a way to get a crazy motion shot like that in real life? Like some kind of personal flying device that would allow for the camera operator to still focus on the shot? Then I thought about Superman. Superman could have been the greatest action DP that ever lived had he applied himself. I mean yeah there’s the saving Lois Lane and the world thing. He could have easily been a better reporter than her if he had had the news camera with him. Then again that might put Jimmy out of work. Ok back to Director of Photography. He could have been awesome.

skating and kissing girls

I skateboarded to 72 street in central park. And although I jumped off a few times when the speed was too much, I haven’t had a big crash yet. I am expecting it. I hope I don’t land on my ass (which still hurts a little from falling down the stairs) or on my teeth.

Later I was on the sidewalk again which is very tricky for me because of the unleveled cement panels. It sort makes me think I’m skating over very very large teeth. Now I lift my front wheels over tricky cracks, but if I’m not going fast enough my back wheels get caught. The board stops; I go forward.

Later on I was down on 5th ave in midtown trying not to let the things in the above paragraph happen while carrying an ironing board for my roommate. A fleet of skateboarders whizzed passed me. A few flew by in the street and few more on the sidewalk. One guy was jumping his board onto the Bergdorf Goodman building and even though he never landed the trick it was ballsy. One girl was with them. Heavier like me. It gave me hope. I totally wanted to try keeping up with them. But I suck, plus I was carrying an ironing board. I was like a domesticated horse pulling a cart, while a heard of wild Mustang raced by. They were in and out of my life in a minute. That’s how fast they were.

Ok so this has nothing to do with skating but it was very upsetting…

The other day I was watching morning videos on vh1 and saw this horrible video/song by the very same name as Jill Sobule’s awesome song, “I kissed a Girl.” It was not a cover/remake it was a whole other song. The beat was ok but the I couldn't get past the trashy Girls Gone Wild type lyrics. the song might actually be cool to me if Cherry flavored Chapstick TM used it in a commercial.

So here’s the video and I will post the cuter Jill Sobule song below.

Cuter folkie song. Fabio's in the video

and just for the hell of it here's Lisa Loeb cus she's so cute and i'm thinking of 90's songs now

P.S. I don't have bedbugs

Wednesday, June 04, 2008

I'm not going to be ashamed to say that I am paranoid as hell that I may have picked up bedbugs at one of the hotels or the hostel. I know I'm a hypochondriac. I would rather that be the case than to actually have bedbugs.

This morning I woke up with a rash or something on my shoulder blade. I fell asleep with my light on, fully clothed and my laptop at the foot of my bed. I slept on top of my comforter because it was very hot. My shoulder was the only part of me that laid over the exposed sheets.

If I had to...my guess would be the by-the-hour "love hotel" kept by the very nice old people in Busan. Now I know I'm pointing fingers but I did find a used condom on the wall-side of the bed while I was searching for the AC remote. I was too grossed out to take a photo. But really imagine how many people could come through in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (yeah that's right, I hate the phrase 24/7). Anyway, If bedbugs were there why wouldn't they have bitten me then? Or were they only on the couch where my bags were? and why would I not get bitten until a week afterwards? do bedbugs lay eggs in peoples bags and not ride along themselves? are they thinking of the future generations first?

So here I am not on my bed in the dark (sort of) and waiting for 3am. Apparently that is not only the spirit hour but also the bedbug feeding time. I'm too tire. I don't I'm going to make it. God I hope I have dust mites or mosquitoes, poison ivy again. People say it doesn't look like poison ivy. I'm very afraid right now.

drawings in Tokyo

I still have lots of pictures to go through, but here are a few drawings from my sketchbook..

this is the swing band concert in Tokyo. My camera battery died after a long day of taking pictures so I started drawing. Oh yeah no one danced which was strange for a swing concert i think.

I drew these on the very long express train from Narita airport to Asakusa (neighborhood of my hostel).
